Local Bank Donates $10K to School Foundation

Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank’s Charitable Foundation recently announced that it has awarded a $10,000 grant to The Clipper Foundation in Portsmouth.

The Clipper Foundation, established in early 2013, aims to enhance the quality of K-12 public education in Portsmouth, Greenland, New Castle, Rye and Newington, New Hampshire through a teacher driven grant process which is supported by a permanent endowment fund.


“We are pleased to award this grant to support an innovative and enriching curriculum for both current and future students,” said Janice Morse, president and CEO, Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank. “As one of the founding members of the Newburyport Education Foundation, we have witnessed first-hand how these creative community-wide partnerships help to inspire our leaders of tomorrow.”
