Old Upper Crust Spot Downtown Gets New Life

Enrico's Deli opened in the Congress Street storefront this week.

The old Upper Crust spot downtown has new life.

Enrico's Deli opened in the Congress Street storefront this week, replacing the former pizzeria.

The eatery uses Boar's Head meat for its sandwiches. The menu includes Italian specialities like eggplant parmigiana and Costa Rican coffee. Beer and wine are also available.

"It will be a fun place with great food and atmosphere," said owner Rick Festa, of York, Maine.

Festa, who previously ran a restaurant in Ogunquit, Maine, said he was walking by the storefront when it was up for lease and decided to take a chance on it.

"It's a great location," he said.

The deli will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.

The Upper Crust closed in February.
