Cabot Street Market Clerk Robbed at Knifepoint

Portsmouth Police: The clerk was leaving the store when the man approached, displayed a knife and demanded all of the clerk's money.

Portsmouth Police are seeking a man reported to have robbed a clerk at Cabot Street Market after the store closed.

Police responded to the armed robbery call at about 12:30 a.m. June 24. The clerk had closed the store and was getting into a car parked on Cabot Street when the man approached, displayed a knife and demanded all of the clerk's money, according to police.

The man was described as a white male of average height, who was wearing a plaid hooded-sweatshirt, sunglasses and some type of cloth or towel covering his face below the eyes. 

Police said the clerk complied with the demands and the robber fled. 

No injuries were reported.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Portsmouth Police Department's Bureau of Investigative Services at (603) 436-2511, or remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers at (603) 431-1199.

Anonymous tips may be made to Seacoastcrimestoppers.org or by texting the tip to CRIMES (274637) with the letters "TIPSCS."  Tips that lead to an arrest or indictment could mean a cash reward of up to $1,000.
