Charges for Portsmouth Senator in Pedestrian Crash?

Martha Fuller Clark struck a woman with her car Friday night, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate State Sen. Martha Fuller Clark (D-Portsmouth), who allegedly struck a pedestrian with her car Friday night.

The pedestrian, Carla Dow, 67, of 25 Goose Point Road in Kittery Point, Maine suffered minor injuries. She was treated at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and released.

Fuller Clark, 70, was driving alone in her silver Audi on Maplewood Avenue near Hanover Street when she jumped a curb and hit Dow Friday at about 8:30 p.m., police said.

Fuller Clark was not injured and there was no indication that she was impaired or under the influence of intoxicating substances, according to police.

Police Sgt. Christopher Roth said on Saturday an investigation into the crash was ongoing.

In September, Fuller Clark had another accident where she struck a sign, Roth said. No one was injured in that incident, Roth said.
