Construction to Start on Memorial Bridge Park

Portsmouth Veterans Memorial Park and Circle will honor all those who have served in the Armed Forces.

Construction on a new Memorial Bridge veterans park that will honor all those who have served in the Armed Forces is slated to begin next week, according to WMUR.

The news station reported the Portsmouth Veterans Memorial Park and Circle will be built on the Portsmouth side of the Memorial Bridge between the Scott Avenue approach and the municipal parking lot that abuts State and Daniel streets.

In May, Jim Teetzel told City Councilors the new park will feature a fountain with recycled granite blocks from the foundation of the former Memorial Bridge as well as brick walkways. The couple also plans to sell individual bricks to family members and community members who can place their loved ones' names on those bricks. The Teetzel's donated $25,000 for the project.
