The dean of the University of New Hampshire's business school is now being urged to run for the U.S. Senate instead of Congress, according to the Union Leader's John DiStaso.
Innis, a Republican from Portsmouth, would be running for Democrat Jeanne Shaheen's seat. He is also considering a run for the 1st District Congressional seat now held by Carol Shea-Porter.
He owns the Ale House Inn in Portsmouth.
Innis is gay and married. Last year, Innis spoke out against a repeal of New Hampshire's same-sex marriage law.
