Tall Ship 'Eagle' Says Goodbye to Portsmouth

"America's Tall Ship" was docked in the city for the Sail Portsmouth festival over the weekend.

The tall ship "Eagle," which was docked in Portsmouth for the Sail Portsmouth festival over the weekend, sailed out Monday morning.

The ship, which has a 147-foot main mast, navigated under the new Memorial Bridge as it exited the city.

The U.S. Coast Guard operates the Eagle, which was taken as a prize from Nazi Germany at the end of World War II. Its nickname is "America's Tall Ship."

Free tours of the ship were given during the festival.
