Maritime Folk Festival Returns to Portsmouth

"Whimsy" at the Rep; 137th annual Deerfield Fair returns; Three Days Grace to rock Club Casino this weekend.

Looking for something fun to do on the Seacoast this weekend? Here are some ideas:

1. Maritime Folk Festival returns: The 14th annual Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival will be held downtown on Saturday and Sunday and will feature several Seacoast area musicians who will perform traditional sea shanties and ballads in several venues.

2. Don't Miss "Whimsy": This is the final weekend to catch the Seacoast Repertory Theatre's musical, "Whimsy," that features 50 child actors and more than 40 songs.

3. Let's Go to the Deerfield Fair: The 137th annual Deerfield Fair, one of the oldest agricultural fairs in New England, makes its return to the Seacoast region this weekend with a wide assortment of animals, rides and shows that are fun for the whole family.

4. Wine and Cheese Tasting: The Cornucopia Wine and Cheese Market on Front Street in Exeter will host its complimentary wine and cheese tasting from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.

5. See a Concert: There are several acts at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom. On Friday night, Three Days Grace with Otherwise will rock the house.
